The Government Gazette number 9650 of 21 December, 2012 the legislation as found in driven machinery regulation number 18 (act 85 of 1993) was updated.

Bayteck Training Academy (Pty) Ltd. provide training for lifting equipment. This training is provided according to the act, inline with SAQA standards which was approved by DOL and TETA.

The prescribed legislation is as follows:
1) A full course for operators currently without an operators license.
2) Re-certification for operators whose operators licenses is about to expire.

Both of these courses will have a theoretical and practical assessment before a learner can be deemed competent.
