The Government Gazette number 9650 of 21 December, 2012 the legislation as found in driven machinery regulation number 18 (act 85 of 1993) was updated.

Bayteck Training Academy (Pty) Ltd. provide training for lifting equipment. This training is provided according to the act, inline with SAQA standards which was approved by DOL and TETA.

The prescribed legislation is as follows:
1) A full course for operators currently without an operators license.
2) Re-certification for operators whose operators licenses is about to expire.

Both of these courses will have a theoretical and practical assessment before a learner can be deemed competent.

COURSE 8 - BASIC RIGGING AND SLINGING

This is a short course based on ALL Crane operation Unit Standards.

2. Slinging methods
3. Hand signals

Duration: 1 day

COURSE 6 - MOBILE CRANE - CODE C33

This course is a fully SAQA / TETA Accredited course and is based on SAQA Unit Standard Number 116253

This course is to be presented to ALL Crane Operators.

Content:
1. Crane theory
2. Rigging and Slinging basic
3. Pre-operational checks
4. Practical operations
5. Assessments

Entrance Qualifaction Conditions:

Appropriate drivers license for the appropriate vehicle
Personal protective equipment
Shall hold the general education and training certificate grade 10
Must have a declaration from the employer confirming the medical fistness.
An eye test result by a trained person to carried out such a test
Shall wear their own personal protective equipment

Recertification: Course for the bi-yearly Recertification on operators still with valid licences
Duration: 1 day

Full Course: Course for the operators that was never licensed before
Duration: 5 days

COURSE 7 - TOWER CRANES - CODE C41 - C42

This course is to be presented to ALL Crane Operators.
